Grandparents are great...

After moving back to the same county in which R. and I grew up, we have been fortunate to spend more time with family, and our children get to grow up closer to their grandparents. Our children are in love with their grandparents and vice versa. Here's a couple of snapshots of the kids with R.'s mom (Mimi) and cousin S. and one of them with my dad, cousin L. and our dog, Cooper. As you can see, it is difficult for everyone to pose "just right" at the correct moment and to have a clean face. Looks like P. was in the chocolate before the picture with Mimi was taken. Mimi's house is made of sugar, chocolate and anything sweet. So are Papaw's and Aunt B.'s.

Doughnuts with Daddy

This morning K.'s preschool hosted "Doughnuts with Daddy." R. took the day off from work to attend school with K. and run some errands. While at school with K., R. was presented with a few items that K. made for him. The first was a canvas tool belt and the second was a list of items about R. They are hilarious. I've listed them below.

  • My Daddy's name is: R.

  • His hair is: brown.

  • His favorite food is: casserole.

  • My daddy works: in Tennessee.

  • He likes to: do some work on the 'puter.

  • I love my daddy because: I gave him a big hug.

The funniest part was that she also drew a picture of the two of them where R. is bald and frowning. She said he was angry. I've laughed all afternoon.

Allergies

We've known for a while that P. has allergies, we just weren't sure exactly to which things he was allergic. Now we know at least three - wheat, eggs and peanuts. We now carry an epi-pen. Poor guy, he's too much like his mom.

Could he be any sweeter?

Every Wednesday we attend a church program titled "Wacky Wednesday." I keep the nursery where P. stays. Last night one little girl was very tired so I rocked her. P., being the sweet boy he is, decided he would also rock a baby and give it "love." Thirty seconds later he was pushing around cars, jumping off the slide and beating on things and people with the pretend hammer.

Welcome to our lives...

It's so hard to keep up with family and friends who live in different cities and states by phone and email. In an effort to better let you know what's going on with us, we're starting our own blog.

So, here you go...here's a look at what we're doing on a regular basis. I'm not promising a daily post, but I'll do my best to update this site weekly to show our family and friends how quickly and how much our little ones change and what we've been up to.

We hope you'll let us know what is going on in your busy lives also.
